ECONOMIC BASIS OF EXTERNAL COSTS IN COPPER PRODUCTION |
Author : Dragica Stojanovic MSc |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :The paper is based on the fact that external costs occur in the production of copper, that they are the result of degradation and damage to the environment and, therefore, have become a real necessity. Ecological external effects influence environmental media (air, water, soil) that have characteristics of public goods. All costs incurred due to environmental pollution are not included in the price of copper. From the point of view of economic prospects, general solution for external costs is their internalization. The principle of internalisation of external costs includes the addition of external costs to the cost of individual pollutants. Through internalization, external negative effects of pollutants are converted into internal effects. Bearing in mind these facts, the aim of this paper is to demonstrate the interconnection between economic growth and environmental protection which together contribute to quality economic development. |

Author : Ivan Bozovic Ph.D, Jelena Bozovic Ph.D |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :Macroeconomic reality of the Republic of Serbia has been for years characterized with a high unemployment rate, employment rate decline, high illiquidity of economy, declining standard of living and high poverty percentage. The most vulnerable are certainly families without any income, particularly taking into account that the aid they receive is small, persons with disabilities and the Romani people as the largest national minority. To the largest extent, the mentioned characteristics negatively reflect to the material and social status of the employed and their families. Although the right to work is one of the most significant rights, the countries that are signatories of international conventions are not required to provide job for everyone, which is unrealistic to expect. With respect to the numerous criticisms made by employers on account of the business environment in Serbia, it seems that much more could be done to stimulate the opening of new workplaces. |

THE CURRENT PROBLEMS OF SYSTEM ILLIQUIDITY AND THE POSSIBILITIES FOR THE PROTECTION FROM LIQUIDITY RISKS IN COMPANIES |
Author : Danica Prosic Ph.D |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :Liquidity risk as a significant component of financial risk which almost every company has faced recently is increasingly in the focus of the interests and priorities of management function. Illiquidity of a company is not just its problem, but most usually the problem of its key stakeholders. By not paying for their liabilities, companies transfer them to their business partners, who, through claiming sums they are owed to, subsidize their inefficient operations. In this way, negative effects can be transferred as a domino effect to other companies. Although there are numerous instruments, diagnostic and analytical frameworks that provide information for rational management of liquidity risk in the companies, insufficient attention is paid in practice to the first signs that point to the problems with liquidity. This paper analyzes the possibilities for protection against liquidity risk with the aim of reducing it to a minimum. |

Author : Goran Jevdjovic |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :The budget of European Union is financial mirror of the policies that Union leads in terms of relative importance as well as dynamics of priorities. The evolution of both the revenue and expenditure side of the budget in the course of time reflects the way in which the Union itself has changed. In the seventies the European Community budget consisted almost entirely of agricultural spending. Today the EU budget covers a very wide range of richly detailed policies in which the agricultural policy is still very highly ranked, but not any more the only priority. The aim of this paper is to analyse fiscal support allocated throughout the EU budget to this delicate paneuropean policy both comparatively, in comparison to other major areas of spending in the budget of the current fiscal year and retrospectively, in the pace of time. |
